Final Thoughts
The G24's glossy surface and orange skin may be fit into the love-it-or-hate-it category for features but there's no doubting the reflective screen does bring benefits in terms of the super sharp image quality and improved colour saturation compared with other matte TN panels. It's also pretty quick too, making the G24 an easy recommend for
gamers looking for a 24-incher.
It's built to go with the new
Acer Predator PC, but you can find it on its own and it should certainly liven up any desktop or make you stand out at a LAN. After all, people mod cases, so why settle for an drab screen to go with it?
Indeed, if you've been looking for a 24-inch monitor with gaming in mind, the G24 could well be what you've been waiting for - it lacks the lagginess of PVA screens and beats the TN competition in terms vibrancy and vividness.
The key question, therefore, is whether all of the above justifies the £350 price tag. That's a lot more than many other 24-inch TN screens and well into the lower end of the PVA market. On balance, we'd prefer to see the G24 priced sub £300, but you do get something quite unique and tweaked specifically to the target market for your purchase. There
is a gap in the market for a quality, slightly premium priced gaming monitor and we can hardly blame Acer for plugging it.
